A Visit to NYC’s Park Terrace Hotel

Jul 09, 2023

Park Terrace Hotel in New York City has something to suit visitors and guests alike as well as locals and those traveling from outside the area. We love any excuse to visit Bryant Park, but Park Terrace Hotel, located at 18 West 40th St, recently introduced its Wellness Package to guests + visitors – something very few hotels in the city have incorporated. Here at The Hoboken Girl, you’ll find us hard-pressed to say no to a little self-care staycation, and Park Terrace has some fun new features that are worth the trek over the Hudson. Read on to learn more about Park Terrace Hotel in NYC.

We’ll get to the full details of the wellness experience in a moment, but anyone can make a reservation through Resy for the sixth-floor lounge known as Terrazzo Coffee Bar + Lounge. It's an all-season terrace that overlooks the stunning Bryant Park and New York Public Library.

There are cozy indoor seating options, as well as an outdoor terrace and a separate covered terrace that is heated in the wintertime. From 4PM-11PM, the hotel serves cocktails and lite bites on the terrace.

While the majority of the hotel's Wellness Package is exclusive to guests of the hotel, visitors and locals can also take part. For one, the 90-minute hypnotherapy session with Ginger Gibson can be booked by guests and non-guests of the hotel for a rate of $245.

If you’re a hotel guest, you have the added luxury of getting complimentary Terrazzo coffee in the morning. There is also a barista on hand that can make specialty coffee drinks at the bar. Plus, pastries are served in the morning and in the afternoon. Who are we to say no to pastries in the morning?

On the first floor, Park Terrace has partnered with the restaurant La Pecora Bianca as their food and beverage menu. The restaurant is located off the hotel lobby. The hip Italian restaurant has seven locations in the city and, at the moment, is offering a complimentary glass of rose every Friday during lunch hours.

The 2023 Wellness Package first launched in January, the most popular time of the year in which people set health and wellness goals for the new year. The General Manager of Park Terrace, Jeffrey Felshaw, chatted with The Hoboken Girl about how they came up with the idea.

"Wellness is part of the fabric of the majority of our guests. Our guests are very active, plus we’re near Bryant Park," Jeffrey told HG. "We also wanted to promote a running route for Central Park, or if the weather was bad and someone had 15 minutes alone in the room, they could put on the TV and follow a fast workout and at least feel that they accomplished a workout while they’re here."

The new features that are part of the Wellness Package include yoga mats in every room, interactive wellness programs on the TV (nearby running routes and exercises with the mat – energizing flow, cardio flow, and restorative flow), and Rituals Cosmetics’ Ritual of Jing soothing in-room amenities to enhance and support sleep.

Guests also have use of the hotel's fitness center which has Peloton bikes, free weights, elliptical machines, and treadmills – as well as a sauna. Additionally, you can book a personal fitness trainer, 45-minute private in-room or on-property yoga class with an acclaimed NYC instructor, or groups can reserve a meeting room so that the entire group can have a private yoga class. If you’re looking for something a little less physical, guests can book a 90-minute in-room or virtual Hypnotherapy session with acclaimed HMI Certified Hypnotherapist Ginger Gibson.

Jeffrey told HG, "In a few of our guest rooms, there's something called the Bryte Bed program, which was added in effort to ensure a good night's sleep. They’ve come in and custom-retrofitted some of the rooms with different draperies. So, there are different options on the iPad for different lighting, along with music which is soothing and meant for a full holistic sleep."
